Our planed softwood palings are made from tanalised timber and can be made to any size or shape – planed or rough sawn; round, straight, pointed or shaped top.

We can make gate posts in softwood or oak in a variety of styles to match your gate.
Our softwood posts come in spruce or larch. Larch is the longest lasting of the softwoods and is the best softwood to use for ground contact. However, although larch is the most durable, it is also likely to crack more and release more sap than spruce or other mixed softwood posts.
Oak posts are also known for their longevity. Like larch, it is the nature of the oak that it will also split and crack.
Cracks will often expand more in the summer due to heat and then contract in the winter months.
Please be aware that we do not offer a guarantee on our posts for splits, cracks, or release of sap after delivery or installation of the posts as this is the nature of the timber species we supply.
